My Name is Tara and I am the owner of Tara Stephens Photography. My husband purchased my first DSLR 14 years ago when we had our first daughter. I've always been into photography and wanted to learn more through the years. When my first daughter was born she was my little model and gave me more of a drive to learn. Once I started posting pictures of my work I gained lots of interest. I started using my friends children to build a portfolio and started my business in August of 2013. LOTS of practice, workshops and having LOTS of patience has brought me where I am today. I have always been into photography since I was young. I was once a preschool teacher turned mom of two girls who are my life. And now daily models haha I want to continue my growth in photography and become better and better at what I do. I love capturing real moments between families and their children. I specialize in maternity, newborn, children and family. There is so much that I love about each session. I love capturing a mother's beautiful glow, those first newborn smiles, the adorable laugher of babies, the love between a family. It's all about family to me. My family means so much to me! They are my biggest inspiration. I definitely try to make each session very personal. I have an in-home studio that I use located in Islip Terrace. Those are the days you should be out shooting and using that feeling to push you to do more, to shoot at a different angle, to get closer. I learned to never let those feelings hold you back from becoming the photographer you want to be.
